Campsite Park Policies

 

The Campsite Policies

Campsite policies are there for the safety and enjoyment of everybody and we would like everyone to have a great time with us at Romney Meadows Caravan and Camping Park.

 

1. Arrival and departure time:

Please arrive between 2 pm and 6.30 pm. Late arrivals by prior arrangement with the managers. Set up must be done before dusk so as not to disturb other guests. Departure must be no later than 11 am, a late check out by prior arrangement with the managers and depending on availability can be considered, there is a charge of £10.00 for this.

Office hours:

Morning: 9:00 am - 12:00 pm 

Afternoon: 2:00 pm - 5.00 pm

 

2. Vehicles/ Motorhomes/ Caravans:

We only allow vehicles that are being slept in ie Motorhomes/ Campervans at the pitch. Twin-axle Caravans/ Motorhomes by appointment only, please ring to make sure we can fit you in. Please fill in all details on the booking form.

No cars are allowed on the field at all times (only to offload and upload). No vehicles will be allowed on the field after dark (or 9.30 pm in winter months) to respect all campers with excessive noise, headlights and engine noise. Please park near reception/ parking area and walk to your pitch. No commercial vehicles are allowed. The speed limit throughout the campsite is strictly 5mph for all vehicles.

 

3. Group bookings:

We do not encourage group bookings. All bookings must be done separately. We do not guarantee pitches together and we only allow a maximum of 3 pitches. If you have friends/ family booking also you must let us know who they are. We are a quiet peaceful family campsite and do not allow parties of any kind. Quiet time must be observed strictly between 11 pm and 7 am.

 

4. Day Guests/ Visitors:

Please let reception know if you have day guests or visitors (within office hours). Their vehicle needs to be parked in the camp site car park and given a parking tag. 

 

5. Dogs:

A maximum of 2 dogs permitted per pitch. Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times. Please clean up after your dog including on the dog walks outside the campsite. When fouling occurs you are expected to bag and dispose of it responsibly; this is in the interest of everyone, especially children. There are dog litter bins on the Park. Dogs may not be taken into the washrooms. Dogs are not to be left unattended such that they cause inconvenience to other park users.

 

6. Safety of children – IMPORTANT!

No footballs are allowed, only small softball games and to be played away from pitches. For the safety of your children playing on the banks surrounding the Campfield is dangerous and we ask that they do not play on them. Please ensure you always know where they are. Children must be accompanied by an adult in the shower room. Playing in the shower/toilet area, laundry room, kitchen cabin, reception/ parking area or in and around the storage unit/ garage is not allowed. We encourage all the children to have fun and enjoy their time at the site but we ask for them to respect other campers and their property. NO water balloons are allowed.

 

7. General conduct/ Noise:

Quiet must be strictly observed between 11 pm and 7 am. Due consideration must be given to the quiet enjoyment of the other guests. Noise must be at a low reasonable level at all times and not to disturb other campers, quite time is from 11 pm. All campers are responsible for the conduct of all users or visitors. Alcoholic drinks may only be consumed in and around the immediate vicinity of your pitch. No drinking is allowed in the communal areas of the Park. Anyone who persistently acts in a manner likely to upset other users of the Park or Park Staff will be asked to leave the Park. We are a family campsite – loud, foul, intimidating language or behaviour will not be tolerated. Anyone who is requested to leave the park due to anti-social behaviour, including drunkenness, loutish demeanour, and excessive noise, will forfeit the right to a refund of pitch fees paid in advance. Park staff will be the sole arbiters as to what constitutes anti-social behaviour.

Illegal substances/ Drugs will not be tolerated on the campsite. The police will be contacted immediately if you are found to be using them. You will be asked to leave the campsite and no refund will be given.

 

8. Cleanliness:

Keep all areas clean and tidy after use. Please use the litter bins provided. Keep pitches tidy, and surrounding areas and check for litter on departure. Please note: Bins are for normal small household rubbish; please do not put broken and unwanted camping equipment etc in them, please take it home with you. Please help to leave all the facilities and communal areas clean for your fellow campers. A clean site is a happy site for all :)

 

9. Fire risk:

We only allow standard BBQs** and fire pits** that are on legs and off the ground so NOT to burn the grass.  Bricks are available for all to use, please ask the team. Please refrain from using BBQs on our park benches. Ground fires are not allowed. Please take every care not to burn the grass. If the grass has been found to be burnt/ damaged you will be charged a minimum of £10.

Fireworks and Chinese lanterns are not permitted under any circumstances.

**Please note we may ban the use of BBQs/ Fire Pits (if advised by the Fire Services) that use logs/ coals and can lead to embers in prolonged periods of dry weather. Gas BBQ's will only be allowed. We will send out a message if that is the case.

 

10. Poor conditions:

In the event of poor ground conditions which are out of our control ie the weather, a pitch may not be available or useable. The team will endeavour to offer an alternative solution and advise you in advance should this occur but no responsibility can be accepted if this is not possible.

 

11. Liability:

Romney Meadows Caravan and Camping Park will not accept any liability of any description for any person or property using the campsite. Visitors are advised to obtain appropriate insurance cover.
